Since I'm pretty fond of collections other people keep, I thought it'd make the most sense to share some of mine. There are three curiosity cabinets around the house, eagerly waiting to be filled up more & more, but this process takes time. Most of the items here have been moved around for years and years.

(Clockwise from top left: Jasper Cone found in Mexico, 100+ year old sand dollar found antiquing in Oregon, Horn shell found along the Pacific Coast, - I don't know what kind of shell this is! - , shark's tooth found on Oak Island, North Carolina, Common Littleneck Clam shell found in Mexico)

(Clockwise from top left: Geode half from Oregon, Azurite from Mexico, Quartz cluster from eastern Oregon, Pyrite cube, Jade with pyrite from New Mexico)

This last image has two of my favorite antique finds: a full, perfect spool of teal thread from 1884 (100 years older than I am!) and a full box of bobby pins from 1920. Such beautiful details.

Uploaded to the shop, now you can carry the sweetest French story around with you.

Rachel & I recently made a trip west for some antiquing, museum going & shipwreck climbing. Running around in the woods afraid of ghosts at an old war bunker.
I love this part of Oregon - the forest meets the sea; the best combination of earth.

Finland & Sweden

My itchy feet just can't stay put here in Oregon. An old friend is moving to Helsinki at the end of June, the other night suggesting I take a look at tickets over there since I've been dreaming about a summer birthday in Scandinavia. Turns out it's much cheaper to fly into Finland than Sweden, so: July 22 - August 6 I'll be scampering around like a wild woman in The North! The Northern Lights, the daylight from 5am to 11pm, the beautiful design, the adorably dressed people... it's going to be such an incredible experience, made even better by staying with a friend. This is also the first trip I'll be taking along in the last two and a half years, which is very exciting. All I'm planning on is arming myself with about 700 cameras (okay, four), working out every single day before I leave to shed these pounds I've been aching to lose (Finnish & Swedish clothing shopping incentive!), and watching these hilarious "Learn Finnish with Sulkasiipi" videos 'til I have a modest grasp on the language.

I've been scouring Flickr for some pretty scenes to look forward to. If anyone has any suggestions on great places to check out, please, please share!

I don't remember exactly how I found this, but earlier Anna Allen's Etsy shop came into my life and I am completely in love with her clothing. My entire life I've had a penchant for Civil War era fabrics, the tiny floral pops & stripes that add up to something more, and secretly dreamed of owning some toned down versions of the early Americana garb.

Anna Allen has encompassed it perfectly; delicate details like Peter Pan collars, hand drawn fabric patterns, sunwashed colors, simple pleats with itty bitty buttons - it's as if she got inside my head and rooted around a bit to find my dream wardrobe. Everything looks so clean, soft and comfortable. Nothing is more appealing to me than beautiful designs that you can actually live in. My personal favorite is the Seaside Dress. You can find her clothes here and here.

Very very excited to be featured on the front page of Etsy this afternoon! The sweetest part was having a coworker of mine give me a call to tell me about it.

There were so many positive, thoughtful messages once I logged into Etsy to check everything out. The 'favorites' on the Aeroplane Over The Sea bag went from 10 this morning to 101 this evening! I couldn't believe it. It is so flattering, exciting and encouraging to see people responding positively to something I've made. Thank you, thank you, thank to everyone for inspiring me to keep going!
